Let’s get right into it!
SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, and OData services T-Codes
You’ll come across transaction codes with the namespaces IWFND and IWBEP:
- IWFND: IWND stands for Information Worker Foundation and does the gateway layer job. For example, parsing and validating incoming requests from JSON or XML to ABAP and routing them to the IWBEP layer.
- IWBEP: IWBEP stands for Information Worker Business Enablement Provisioning and handles the business logic layer job. For example, the parent classes for DP (Data Provider) classes and MP (Model Provider) classes of OData services.
With transaction code SE43 it is possible to create folders for the Easy Access Menu in the SAP GUI that pops up after logging in. You can, for instance, create a folder for all SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, and OData Services code. Neat.
By the way, take a look at the SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 differences if you don’t know it yet. That one is super important.
