What Is the Lifecycle of a Control in SAP UI5?

All the lifecycle hooks of an SAP UI5 control are must not be called by the application directly. The SAP UI5 framework calls the methods. All the work is done for you.

The lifecycle hook methods of an SAP UI5 control are, and therefore, the lifecycle is:

  • init: Called while the constructor of the element of the control is executed. Initialization of the control. This is an inherited method of the element parent of the control.
  • onBeforeRendering: Before the rendering of the control is started. Called before every rendering or re-rendering. This is a method of the control.
  • onAfterRendering: After the rendering of the control is completed. Called after every rendering or re-rendering. This is a method of the control.
  • exit: Called after the destroy of the element of the control is executed. Cleans up the control instance before destruction. This is an inherited method of the element parent of the control.
